Hi:
Once a person ( or Service Shop ) has
subscribed to the RSS, the subscriber
is only entitled to ( 12 ) Months of
FREE updates.
So long everything works well, you must
" renew " your subscription every year which
is generally 125.00. They will then send you
upates again year after year until the particular radio has been suspended from
production or the subscription Expires. ( which ever occurs 1st ) And seeing how most later Motorola products are, that does not last long compared to the older days.
Also, later Model Radios are dependent on the latest Software too...That is to say
if you purchase a radio and the software, and
if the radio gets sent to the factory, its
automatically updated, and older series Software will no longer work....So persons
who purchase later Model Radios are sorta married to Motorola forever.
Get your radio back from ~//~ and you can
no longer program it ( until you resubscribe )
Hopefully some perosns will come out with some updates to get around the problem, but
my view point is:
It almost impossible to learn what 100's per
haps 1000's of other persons have done with
the RSS programming infastructure.
But, ~//~ still has / had many good radios
which most of us have and use.
Just wish they would be more user friendly
MS
Hope the information helps.
