Hello All!
I recently came into a HT1000 UHF. The radio works fine, but the case (housing) is all messed up, cracked, marked up, that kind of stuff. If anybody could tell me how to replace the housing, I would really appreciate it, thanks!

Check EBay- they sell re-furb kits for the HT1000 on a regular basis. About $35.

Does the refurb kit come with instructions? I just don't know how to take apart the old case!

What radios do you own?: Radar Range

Im not quoting from the service sheet on this but I have found that a small, very small(1/8 inch wide or a little smaller) flathead screwdriver works the best. What you do is take the battery off and you will see at the bottom of the radio in the back there will be a slot in the center that you stick the blade of the screwdriver into and carefully pull back and that will pop the case off. Just make sure you have the antennae and the volume and channel knobs off first.

The refurb kit for my MT2000 came with an instruction sheet. It's a pretty simple operation, took about 10 minutes.
