I have a repeater that I am trying to set up to be able to remotely enable/disable it.
I am using the I20R controller, a Maxtrac for TX, and a GM300 for RX. The I20R service manual reads:
"To remotely disable a repeater that is enabled, the mobile iniates a RapidCall Call Alert to the receive radio, using the recieve radio's ID number..."
So I can send MDC1200 Call alerts to the radio, and get it to acknowledge the call alerts. But the repeater stays enabled. I have tried this with the emergency alert function enabled and disabled (it will send an emergency to acknowledge recieve).
Any suggestions on getting the setup/knockdown function to work?

I'm actually using the TRA100R tone remote controllers, but if they are similar in basic operation, it could be a number of things:
1) The call lists for both the repeater receiver and the control radio must contain each other's IDs.
2) The receive radio in the repeater must be programmed to transmit and receive on the receive frequency.
3) The control radio must be programmed with the repeater input as a simplex channel (Not much to be gained listening to the output for an ACK if it's knocked down!)
4) Pin 4 on the repeater receive radio needs to be programmed as Alarm out. My copy of the install manual lists it as High in one place and Low in another, so you may have to try both. You'll probably want to make sure that it's the same pin on your radio / controller.
5) At least on the TRA100, the remote set-up / knock-down and Mon RX audio options are mutually exclusive, since they both require pin four for different functions. This may not apply to the i20s, since I don't believe that they support a tone remote.
Good luck!
