I noticed that the EX500 seems to be a small version of the HT750; however, I noticed that the EX500 can do emergency encode! Has Motorola upgraded the firmware in the HT750 to include emergency encode also? The original HT750 radios could only sound an audible alarm from it's speaker, but could not sent the MDC emergency data packet to the dispatcher. As a result of the original firmware of the HT750, my agency started buying HT1250's only for the emergency option. It would be nice to have an HT750 that can do emergency encode.

Thanks for all of the info. I have the latest RSS, so I can also flash any old HT750 I come across later. I'm glad Motorola decided to enable this important feature.

Also there were several SRN's on the HT750's and hold Motorola to making sure they are reworked per the SRN's. Mostly on the issue of the poor receive sensitivity due to the incorrect values in the antenna matching circuit. The also changed the antennas again.
