Need idea for 2001 Yukon XL

Post by kdean7 »

Any suggestions for customizing the existing center console or an aftermarket console that would fit neatly into the truck? I've checked out many of the console dealers (Havis-Shield, Jotto, Gamberjohnson, Troy Products, ProGard and SMC) I'm looking to maintain the tape deck -not necessarily in the same place, and add a BC780 and a CDM 1550.
Any suggestions are welcome and pictures of examples would be great.
I've been looking through all the past posts at some really great installs. Just a note, the 2001 does not have the same console as the 2002 and above. The 2002 and above has a different console toward the dash wich would be ideal becuase I could use Havis-Shields C-VS-1200-GM. I called them direct and the sales person wasn't very helpful so not thrilled with dealing with them.
Thanks in advance...

Here is a link to pics and info regarding my 2001 Tahoe install.

The console replaces the factory console and buts up with the factory tape deck, leaving it accessable and functional, although the pics don't show it (the TMD700 head sits in front of it).

Search for my post 03 suburban install and you'll see what I ended up doing

Havis-Shields was less than helpful for me as well. I went with Gamber-Johson although troy was my second choice.
