CDM REMOTE INSTALLS

Post by Rwest25 »

Is it just me, or has anyone else had trouble programming
CDM remote mounted mobiles, in the vehicle?
Take them out, put on the bench, snap on a control head,
and they program fine.

Never had a problem using the factory remote head kit but did read that the quickmount dual head kit cannot be programed while connected.

What RIB are you using, a home built may not have the drive to handle the long cables.
Cause Motorola said so that's why

This is the second time I have read someone on here having this problem. I have a remote mount CDM and it programs fine through the control head. I don't know whats causing it but it has to be something not "normal".

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"

I can program mine with the remote head, longer of the two cable lengths. I have also used a clone rib, with about a 12' RIB to Radio cable without a single issue. And I ALWAYS read the radio at least 3 times before I even attempt to write to it.
