Hi,
In the RSS under Radio Wide Display (more) Options, F4, F3, F6, F9. It has the field Caller ID, and it can be set between on and off. Does this mean the radio will decode MDC ID's onto the top display?
Thanks

I believe that the caller_id field in the MTX radios determines whether a radio ID is displayed or Alias name for that ID when you receive a private call. It does not decode MDC ID and PTT ID like the Spectra's do in nomral trunk mode.

Look back at the question about the MTS2000 displaying ID's down the page a bit.

The feature isn't supported in MTX radios and is only supported in late model MTS2000 radios.

Ahh I understand, thank you
well its not all bad new or is it? does this mean it will only work in trunking for private calls, and or enhanced mdc 1200 conventional when recieving selective call

Private call is a trunking feature. I've never seen a MTX838/8000 that the MDC select call actually worked with.

I was told that the true MDC functions started in the late V2.x or V3.x controllers. I think the highest MTX controller is V1.82.

It may work since the 838 is an export version of the 8000, right? Got me there!

There's always trial and error, I speak from more error than trial...

Let us know if what you find out.

the version that comes up in the self test is R 1.37. The model is H01KDD9DB4AN and yeah i would imagine it would be an export radio. but what is the differene between the mtx9000 and mtx 8000?
according to the user manual it does work with this radio...if i remember what i read correctly.
