I picked up an MTS 2000 complete front cover at the Hamfest.I tested it on my JT1000 and the speaker has low audio and sounds like someone is talking in a box.I just wanted to see if you guys think it is the speaker that is bad? Before i put one in. The cover looks very good, i bought it to replace a very worn case on my JT.How much would this combo cost new?(complete referb kit + speaker,mic,flex,DTMF/DISPLAY)

Sounds like the speaker is bad (to me).
It is probaly draging the voice coil, not uncomon for them. Speakers are inexpensive, but takes a lot of carefull soldering on the flex, I learned the hard way.

There have been some MTS housings complete with speaker and control flex that have been going pretty cheap on Ebay. May be worth your while.
