MCS2000 accessory pinouts

Hi there, i have some questions about the MCS2000 accessory connector pinouts.

Does anyone now a pin witch i can use to hook up a taperecorder?
It has to be a steady level, not interfered by the volumeknob!
I asume that i can use pin 4 for GND?

Does the MCS2000 has a discriminator pin?
I wanna use a pin so i can read the CTCSS/PL on my Optoelectronics decoder and decode some other things.

Can anyone give me a pinnumber from where i can get a busysignal? (external light)

Can anyone get me a pinnumber to connect my horn to when i receive a correct PL or ZVEI tone?

Can somebody explain me in simple English (or Dutch ) what the exact meaning of pin 4 to 25 is please?

So, Pin 11 is what you want for discriminator audio. Pin 8 is used for carrier detect (what you called "busy"). You must program the radio for "car radio mute" (F4, F3, F2, F9 from main menu) to enable the pin, it will then go to ground when receiving a signal. You must program the Horn/lights (F4, F3, F7 from main menu) to get your alarm output, I forget which pin it is, but it's one of the I/O pins (pin 7, I think). Good Luck,

I do not understand the explanation of ALL the pinnumbers such as pin 7, 8, 16, 20 and 21.......I/O x???
What does pin 25 univ IO out does?
And pin 22 rssi out??
Can you tel me the menu ITEMS i have to use in order to activate the things you told me?
The radio i use is a MC2100 (European version), i use RSS GVN6011L Version R02.10.00.
That is for 2000 & 2100 series select 5 radio's.

No problem. The "I/Ox" pins mean that they are programmable, for either an Input or Output (I/O), depending on what you set them for in the RSS. Pin 22 RSSI outputs a variable DC voltage depending on the recieved signal strength level. The stronger the signal, the higher the voltage. Pin 25 "Universal I/O Out" is a buffered output of the discriminator audio. As far as telling you the exact functions to enable, I already did that. They are "Car Radio Mute" (pin 8 ) and "Horn/lights" (pin 16, not 7). I even gave you the function buttons to press to get you there, but your RSS is no doubt different, both in the button sequence, and what the features may be called. Good Luck,

The AA version of MCS2000 will not alow any programming of any accessory pins, and the factory verified this.

What do you mean by "AA" version? I'm not familiar with that.

I see this is a very old post,before CPS was being used for the MCS2000.
But i have the same question regarding which pins to use for recording,i'm already using pin 11 for the discriminator but trying to figure which pins to use to record audio.

I just ran across your post while trying to figure out how to program pin 8. I think you want to click the AM/FM Mute and Carrier Detect checkbox under Radio Configuration, Radio Wide in the Advanced Tab to enable pin 8 using CPS.

Just on this one, I've seen the VIC CFA MCS (more like MC2100 MPT DM) have the internal speaker via the remote lead and an external speaker connection from the speaker audio run via a relay which is controlled from an IO pin and allows you to turn that speaker (for external speaker I'd imagine) on or off via a button on the face. What function and pins would allow similar on a regular MCS? It has me beat how they did it if it isn't a special feature. It was a great feature to allow an external speaker with the on/off via the front face. The RSS for that radio didn't allow you to ammend the button assignments so I couldn't catch what feature it was attached to.
