Motorola Sensar battery

Post by i2tall2c »

Anyone have experience with the old 2-tone voice pager "Sensar"
Looks like a pen but is a pager. I have a few brand new ones but I can not find battery for them. Maybe someone has made a mod to use a battery that can still be had...

I was told by my pager company that if I could find a battery they could program it. But I have searched the net the world over and battery no longer exists...

I never knew which paging format the Sensars used. I have two of them that I purchased in my pager collection. One is tone only and the other has an alpha numeric display which I'm assuming operated on 5/6 tone or GOLAY.

I was just playing around and used a Radio Shack 303 button type battery and they powered up just fine. Give it a try and see what happens.

Hi;

The Sensar pager takes a 1.2V, 70mAh button cell seen here:

That said, a 303 is 1.55 volts, so I doubt the slight over voltage is really going to cause a problem.
