Engine Noise in Crown Vic PI

Engine Noise in Crown Vic PI

I just insatlled my Cdm1550 in My CVPI using the red power lead supplied for Police Pkg vehicles! and grounded it to the grouding block on the passenger side kick panal. I now have engine nise and altenator noise we tx'ing! any ideas?
has anyone ran into this problem?

Disconnect your antenna and see if the hum is apparent on RX. If noise disappears reroute yiur antenna cable. If not hook power to the battery direct and see if the noise goes away. Your alternator likely has a bad rectifier if the noise still persists.

We've never had a lot of success with that plug. About half the time, we end up rerouting to the battery or to a battery contact in the fuse block, terminating the wire with a blade terminal. The blue plug (ign) in the police pkg gives problems too, like the bullet connector being too large for the bullet plug and the wire falling out of it.
