Turn signal strobes - 88 chevy

Post by thumbtrap »

Hi folks - yup this is one more vollie lights install stupid question.
I have an 88 chevy k1500, and I want some lights for it. (I usually run a single Talon in the honda, but it's winter now.) I like the Talon, except I want some corner visibility for the roadside. I already bought some TIR-3's, but I'm not entirely happy with them (little laser beams already - hide them behind the grille and it's invisibile outside the eye damage zone), and will probably sell them.

I'd like to put a dash king and strobes in the tail lights and turn signals, for corner visibility - but they look pretty small. Will they fit the front turn signals on this era chevy? I know they'll fit in the parking lamp front facing housings, but everyone here really advocates the turn signals - so I thought I'd ask to see if it's possible or even a good idea (ie, too small, heat, melting, etc..)

I've had good luck with my setup. I was able to place a linear strobe tube in the housing along with the plug-in marker bulb. If you send me your housings I can install the Whelen tubes, or some Whelen LED's and send them back for a fee.

CHART
If the lights are out when you leave the station and then come on the second you key up, you know you have enough power.
