Maxtrac 300 MDC Decode

Post by KD5NBU »

I have a VHF Maxtrac 300 16 pin that i am trying to get to decode and display an ID Number. I understand that you need to affiliate a 2 digit "name" with the MDC-1200 ID number under MDC call list. I set the radio up to decode ID but this does not work and i cannot find the MDC call list in my RSS. Anyone know how to do this? Any help is appreciated.

"What do you do with witches?" "Burn! Burn, burn them up!" "And what do you burn apart from witches?" "More witches!" "Wood!" "So, why do witches burn?" [pause] "B--... 'cause they're made of wood...?" "Good!"

Have you made MDC1200 a signalling system assinged to your individual conventional channels?

Two things I know for sure, you have to have "decode ID" display enabled, and you probably should have the radio set as a base station.

Otherwise, configure MDC1200 as a signalling system
Set MDC1200 as the TX and RX signalling system on the conventional channels
Setup an MDC1200 call list, on the GM300, I think decode display and all that is set there

program it in, it should work fine.
