800 MHz Trunked MCS2000 to Centracom Series II

Post by FedFyrGuy »

Looking for some advice on interconnecting an 800 MHz trunked MCS2000 to a spare position on our Centracom Series II. Can this be done with a tone remote adapter interconnected with the accessory option connector on the MCS2000? If so, will the Multi-Select feature work allowing us to transmit and dispatch on both a conventional VHF base station and the MCS2000 if so selected? I understand that the MCS2000 will still need to be located nearby to select and change talkgroups, etc.

Any help and advice on this project would be deeply appreciated....

As long as you have a spare BIM card in your CEB, or the means to put a new one in, you can certainly use the MCS2000 in conjunction with a tone remote adaptor & use it as a resource in your Centracom system. Using it for things like patching & multi-selecting is dependant on Centracom programming, nothing to do with the radio really.
