FS PA-300in Crown Victoria

Post by tgo »

Not Motorola, but vehicle install related: Installing PA-300 siren in Ford Crown Victoria. Broke hown ground wire from horn relay and spliced into PA-300 as usual. Problem: Horn ring and cruise control share a ground; turn on cruise, siren sounds.
Any of you suggest a solution? additional relay, etc.? Thanks.

haha.. thats great for a hidden siren button, and undercover operations. :D

I think you've just got your polarity reversed.

LOL! but just think, you can set the cruise control for 80 mph and with the siren blarin' you wont even have to slow down or adjust your setting. I thought the CV's were positive for horn ring though.

Think I am following the line of these two posts: polarity may be reversed on horn ring vs horn wires. Will do some switching and see waht happens.
Thanks, guys.

this has always been a problem with crown vics. Only way I know of to bypass this is to go right from the horn itself using a relay.... I know it's not perfect, but it works!
