quantar with garbled astro repeat

Post by batdude »

i am curious if anyone here has ever worked on a quantar that is garbling inbound/outbound astro traffic.

it's a mixed mode quantro.

analog repeat is fine.

full quieting analog in = quantro quality analog repeat audio

same radio digital in = garbled astro out

this was tested with multiple subscriber radios...

any ideas?

or should i just swap the SCM and go from there?

Doug,
I am not a radio expert, certainly not an astro expert.. But as I sit hear and listen to a peter frampton CD I thought of something.

In testing some secure equipment within spectras and the MSF we noted that there were many adjustments for audio quality regarding securenet. I am wondering if the astro side of the unit is not to spec.

I also wonder if the modulation type all has to be the same.

Just a thought... I am searching the universe for a **reasonably priced** quantar (uhf 460's) with imbe.... If you find one, pls let me know. . Thanks, Rob

How does it sound if you transmit with a local mic or maybe through a wireline remote?
