2004 Chevy Tahoe/Silverado Cup Holder Removal

Post by Wes »

Hi all,

Has anyone successfully removed the cupholder attached to the front of the center seat? At a glance it appears that the metal brackets are welded up under the center part of the seat. I need to remove one of these in a Tahoe to install a Havis-Shields Consolidator. If the cupholder is fastened with screws, where are they???

Thanks in advance,

Wes

I may be wrong but, I have removed them before and they are on clips or some type of track system that require some muscle to remove

The ones i removed are riveted in with 4 pop-rivets. Take center seat out of the vehicle and turn it upside down, then drill out the 4 rivets that hold the brackets to the seat, you can then remove the cup holder assembly and keep it until its time to put back in.

Thanks for everyone's replies.

Micky, you seem to describe what I thought I saw in there when I looked at it.

I have the install scheduled for Monday and Tuesday of this next week, so I will see what I find.
