ignition sense on a cdm....if you are having problems..

Post by giguchan »

Hello,
I remember someone on the board asking about the ignition sense in a CDM -not working properly... causing them grief But i cannot find the post.. A buddy of mine was going through this problem too.. his solution? was to update his firmware... courtesy of the local M$$.. I don't know what it cost him... but he was told that the upgrade will do the trick, Seems that all is well now....

Hmmm. I've never had any problem with pin 10 sense ever since the radio's debut and Ive installed hundreds of these things.

The early lowbands would display a "bootstrap error" on powerup, but this was a different type of problem.

I can't believe the rss was the cause of the trouble. You must have had really old rss maybe.

II. Firmware Corrections

Item #1: Radio does not power-up correctly when using ignition sense.

If ignition sense is used with a radio operating under option board control, the radio may not properly power-up correctly when turned on. This may occur when the radio is installed in a vehicle and the ignition is started. This new firmware correctly processes the ignition sense input on power-up.
