05 Ford F150 radio removal, need help.

Post by DUSTIN »

Has anyone removed a Factory AM/FM radio out of a 2005 F150 wanting to use it's antenna for one of my scanners if possible. This radio does not have the normail two holes on the sides like most Ford radio. I'm down grading from A F350 to a F150 trying not to drill to many holes if I can help it. I will also be posting for sale a Jotto Desk radio console out of my F350 soon, if any one's looking, let me know. Thanks for any help.

Sure its not just covered by a trim ring or something....

Shoudl have the 4 normal holes that you use the special tool for... at least the one I remember..

if i remember right the lower pocket snaps out, behind is some 7 mm screws to remove and the whole trim panel snaps off. this includes the tray on top of the dash, it should be one piece. the radio is held in by 2 or 4 7 mm screws, you shouldn't need any ford radio removal tools, just some careful prying on the trim

Gently pry at the plastic trim with a flathead, be carefull though. Under the trim will be 2 bolts that remove the brackets and the radio. Its very simple now, they realized that nobody really cares about stealing stock radios anymore.
