Tuning an Advisor Elite Pager

Post by fireradio »

Hi all,

I understand the Advisor Elite series of pagers are synthesized - I am going to purchase a used one off eBay or something like that; however, I need it to be on a certain frequency (on the 900mhz band) and I was wondering how hard it would be to retune a pager that's on a nearby 900mhz frequency. Or, is it even necessary to retune the pager if the frequency is just a few MHz away from the one I require?

I'm sure I don't have the equipment, but I might be able to find someone who does. Or, is anyone out there willing to retune a pager for me if I find one?

Thanks,

Charlie

I've never had any problems just entering the new frequency in. Even moved some from 929 channels to 931 without difficulty. I'm sure the *proper* way is to retune it, but you're pretty close and I doubt those devices have much in the way of a front end.
