Motorola People Finder LT

Post by pfdunit138 »

Hello.

My fire department utilizes the Motorola People Finder LT for tone encoding. I wasn't sure if anyone is familiar with it or knows where any type of information or user's manual can be acquired, because I haven't had any luck thus far. I had never heard of one before-it's gray with an LCD screen and a digital keypad (0 thru 9), F1 thru F4 keys, a delete key and a "-" key, and looks kind of like an older model desktop radio shack scanner. If anyone knows anything, let me know. Thanks!

So, what is it you are wanting to know? You've given a dead-on description of the unit, but what do you want to do, or change?

I pretty much want to know if there's any type of ltierature on the unit--specifically if there are any alert tone options, or options to sound multiple sets of pager tones without typing one, pressing enter, and waiting to enter another.

The documentation for the Peoplefinder terminals is very old, and when I checked with Motorola two weeks ago, 7 out of the 8 manuals in the documentation set was NLA. However, I now have a Peoplefinder in for repair that was hit by lightning, and the owner supplied a user manual and partial technical documentation. If you PM me with your maill-to address I'll copy the user documentation and mail you a copy of the manual. It's only 26 pages or so.
