CHANGING HEADS ON TALON LED

Post by CBP_LB »

i got a really good deal on dual talon LED lights...

the only problem is they are only available in AMBER/AMBER and RED/BLUE

what i want to know ... is there a way i can take the RED/BLUE light into a RED/AMBER light from the dual AMBER light?

Do you have the proper heads - as in proper color heads to make the dual talon you want?

If so yes - it might take some soldering thou.

Should be able to just unsolder the amber lights and solder in red ones.
Might take a while tho :o

You can change them out by re-soldering the wires back in as was suggested, or just cutting the wires and butt splicing them back together once you have swapped heads out.

I have done this numerous times, before Whelen came out with the Passive PCB/Ballasts for these lights.

They will work just fine for what you want to do.

Something to keep in mind, once you do this modification to the lights, the Whelen 5 yeaf HDP warranty is null and void. I have run my Talons since then for 100+ hours with no problem, with butt splicing.
