Ford F250 questions

Post by Dsycutter »

I have lurked here for a while and now I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer.

I have a 2000 F250 and I was wondering how some of you might have mounted TIR3s in the stock grille.

I have the TIR3s with the mounting brackets, but I was standing there scratching my head trying to figure out how I should mount them.

Any ideas, questions, comments welcome!!!

Thanks
Sean

I've done a few. Usually, I just take some 2" aluminum strap, bend one end up to mount the TIR, and form the rest of the strap to get the lighthead flat and level. The back edge of the "bracket" bolts through one of the horizontal plastic runners.

On my 2005 F-350, I got a larger mounting bracket.

I've mounted a pair of red 600-series Linear LEDs to the top corners of the mesh, and a pair of blue 500-series TIR6 LEDs to the skirts below the Sch40 pipe on the slope to provide some intersection warning.

Not handy, unfortunately. The first install isn't on my vehicle... the one on my truck is still a work in progress.
