Hello to all:
I'm sure this topic has been broached before. In the past I have seen some videotapes on simple repair work on Sabers and other radios. In addition, I even remember when Monty (RIP), was even willing to do some videos on repair work as well. I think a lot of batlab members have some great knowledge, in several categories such as, surface mount repair, duplexers, etc. Nevertheless, I would be willing to pay a fair price for video instruction or even hands on. I'm just looking at simple repairs such as audio jacks, channel selector knobs, and simple tuning. I remember in the past I was able to send some of my major customers to the Motorola repair depot to sit with a tech to learn some of the minor repairs on equipment. I also recall that Motorola did not charge a cent. Of course that customer just purchase over $100,000 in new radio gear. I'm just looking to expand my education and knowledge in radios and it would be great if we could find a few mentors. Any suggestions would be great and I'm open to anything.
Thanks
Steve

Steve, this goes right along with zzpot's posting on HT600 radio alignment.
If we were not so far spread out training would not be such a problem. Some of us remember the Motorola radio and portable repair manuals and vidieos of long gone years.
We do have some good writers here, all we need is a couple of good vidieographers willing to give there time.
All that said, your idea to spend a little time with a well trained technician at a reputable repair shop is good.
