It happened to me. Local repair shop said they couldn't fix it. It went to the depot and wasn't a cheap fix. a couple of hundred if i remember right.

I had a EEPROM CS or similar error when I lost power during programming. I was able to bring it back, but don't ask me how.. it's been a while. I either cloned a good radio or pushed in an s-record. Can't remember for sure though.

The "HW" indicates hardware error. If it showed "CS" instead, it would be a checksum error & you could likely revive it. Unfortunately, since it's a hardware issue, you'll likely have to depot the unit for the flat-rate repair. Unless someone on here can fix it up cheaper...Tony Soprano possibly.

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Todd-thanks for the vote of confidence, but that radio has gone tits up and is destined for a Depot trip. The error code points to the EEPROM IC itself, but that's a Depot part only, they won't let it outside the gates. The chip itself is just an 8-pin SOT chip under a shield can, would be an easy fix otherwise.
