Antenna Mounting Chevy TrailBlazer LS

Post by c17loadsmasher »

Hello all...

I'm removing the FedSig Vector from my truck in a few days or so and it currently has a VHF whip mounted on the triangle panel. I've got a new antenna and I was planning on mounting it on the roof once the lightbar is removed. It will be attached to a 45W Kenwood TK-730G VHF high-band. I also have an 800Mhz antenna I am planning on mounting as well. What I'm looking for is some feedback or suggestions on the best locations on the roof to mount them? Also, how far apart should they be...the VHF will be the one that most often transmits, 800 is basically for monitoring. I was assuming to mount them on the centerline of the roof (front to back axis) but I don't know if there are any better suggestions. Any help is greatly appreciated...thanks!
