WHY IS THIS NOT WORKING???? HANDSET QUESTION?

Post by FMROB »

Ok, I am loosing my mind here.

I have the CDM series handset (brandnew) and a CDM1250.

When you plug the handset into the radio, no earpiece audio.

If you change the programing in the accessory section of radio wide to "handset" the radio functions properly when off hook mutes internal speaker, but no ear piece audio..

PLEASE HELP ME>>>>>> Thanks, Rob

All of the equipment just came from mother M, so it is brandy new.

I tired the handset on other radios, no luck....

I tired one of the older "maxtrac" style handsets, no audio, Nothing.

Is there a modification Something I am missing..

Can I take a jumper from the internal speaker and jump it to Pin 8 which is the handset speaker audio..

Thanks, Rob

What radios do you own?: AM/FM

if the CDM handset does not generate ANY audio on any radios, i'd be looking at that as a suspect...i was under the impression that once you change the handset programming option like you did...you were all set.

Yes, we outfitted 3 CDM radios last year with those handsets...once the radios were programmed as you described, they worked no problem. I'd say there's a problem with the new handset, either in the coil cord or the earpiece speaker itself.
