HT1250 clock loosing time??
The clock on my HT1250 is loosing about 20 minutes a day. Any ideas on this? Is there an internal battery that keeps the time? The radio always has the battery attached and this radio is used for about 12 hours daily.
Thanks in adance

Re: HT1250 clock loosing time??
Interesting. I had issues with my clock in the past, like it resetting periodically, especially if the battery was removed from the radio for more than a couple hours. Other issues included the clock resetting after a reprogramming. I think there was another issue as well that I can't recall, but after programming it with a newer CPS and having the firmware upgraded (I noticed the clock problems disappeared after R05.08.03)KB1DRL wrote:The clock on my HT1250 is loosing about 20 minutes a day. What firmware is in your radio? That may be an issue

Here's the info.

Subject: HT1250LS+/HT1250LS/HT1250 - Real Time Clock (RTC) is losing time
Symptoms:
The problem the HT1250LS+/HT1250LS/HT1250/EX600XLS/MTX8250LS portable radios are experiencing is intermittent losses of time to the radio’s RTC on its display. Turning the radio off will intermittently cause the RTC to stop as well. When you turn the radio back on, the RTC starts again. Depending on the length of time the radio was off, you could loose anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.
Potential Problem Radios:
Any Professional Series Portable that has the RTC feature and has firmware version R05.09.06 or older, potentially have this problem. Radio’s shipping from the factory starting with date code 5343 will have the fix implemented into it already.
Cause:
A setting in the radio’s firmware is causing an improper shut down of the microprocessor’s “SYN” line. This is causing the RTC of the microprocessor not to be switched to Vstby quickly enough to sustain the RTC.
Corrective Action:
Updating the radio’s firmware to version R05.09.11 or newer will correct this problems.

There is a small battery for the clock inside the HT1250. This is a "backup" battery for when you remove the radios battery - so the clock doesn't loose its time.
I've never seen a HT1250 have a slow clock OR loosing time becasue of the firmware issue mentioned in the above posts. However, I've replaced the internal battery on two HT1250's that would not keep proper time, which fixed the clock issue.
I posted the battery number about a year or so ago, but can't remember at this moment what the battery number is. However it's just a small watch battery available at any local Radio S4@ck or WallyWorld for a few dollars.
Good luck
