Saber SVA Suitecase to Ham Dual Band

Post by Motradio »

FYI -

I just completed a very nice mod to the Saber SVA Suitcase (w/the Flat horizontal style sva mount).

Removed the Motorola VHF Brick Amp, and replaced it with a Mirage BD-35 Dual Band (VHF/UHF) for Ham use. Amp is about 150 bucks.

Fits almost perfect in the under side of the chassis. Drilled 4 holes for the new mount, the in/out connectors aligned perfectly as well. Soldered up the power and all done.

Plop in a UHF or VHF and no worries about forgetting to turn the amp off.

I have some pic's but it is very easy to do.
