HOW DO I READ XTS5000 W/CPS

I have a XTS5000. Problem is, it wont read in CPS. I know I am using the right port, cables are good. I am able to read my XTS3000 with that software, but when I attempt to read the XTS with the XTS software, nothing happens and I get the following error:

Radio Failed to Acknowledge
Error Code = e4000386

Anyone understand this? Is the radio locked out? Is there a pasword protect?

Two problems.

One - XTS5000 requires different software from XTS3000. XTS3000 uses Astro Portable for XTS3000 and Astro Saber... XTS5000 uses Astro 25 Portable for XTS1500/2500/5000/SSE5000.

Two - XTS5000 requires the special new RIBless cable... your XTS3000 cable and RIB won't work.

Get the right software and the right cable and you should be good.

XTS3000 and Astro Saber use a seperate CPS from the new XTS series. It's CPS is called XTS 3000 and Astro Saber CPS.

XTS 5000 usesa new CPS called Astro 25 CPS.

The XTS 5000 uses a Ribless programming cable while the XTS 3000 needs the rib.
