ct250 uhf dead

Post by johnny1225 »

I have a CT250 that is completely dead. Changed Volume Pot because there is voltage going to the pot. The fuse is good. There is no voltage going to the 3.3 v and the 5 v regulators either, so i changed them out and still dead radio. Could you please tell me where i could look to get this problem solved.

Regards,

john

Please check Test Point BOOT CONTROL & SWB+.
BOOT CONTROL must be 4.5-5.0 Volt.
SWB+ must be 7.4-7.5 Volt.
If no all, EEPROM & FLASH EPROM may be fault.

Very possible it's a dead reference oscillator crystal. Bad news...it's not a 'field replaceable' part & you can't order it.

Yes EEPROM & FLASH EPROM only depot /\/\ can fix it.

Lead of X'tal 16.8MHz may be loose, please resolder.
