Can I make a 1250 out of a 1250 LS or LS+?

Post by Jammer »

Is it possible to copy the codeplug from a 1250 to a 1250 LS or LS + and get the increased conventional channel capability?

Obviously there must be some hardware differences, but has anyone done this?

What radios do you own?: APX4K, XTL5K, NX5200, NX700HK

No, that won't work... the software will see a mismatch in serial number and model number and not allow it

No, I'm quite sure it won't work. A while back, a member tried to convert a "5AN" mobile into a "6AN" mobile model using the dual ribless/Y-cable procedure outlined on Batlabs.

Afterwards, the CPS showed it as having a "6AN" model number, but none of the "6AN" features (MDC, extra conventional channels, etc) were enabled.
