Can an ASTRO Ready Analog XTS3000 be made Astro w. Codeplug

Post by cryptoman »

I have an XTS3000 radio that based on the flashcode is:
Q241ASTRO Ready (Analog Operation ONLY)

If I load this radio with a codeplug from a radio that IS flashed for Astro operation:
Q806/G806IMBE / APCO-25 Digital Operation

Will the radio now be able to operate in the IMBE Astro mode, or is there more to
it than this?

No, the firmware must be updated via a FlashPort package to support IMBE. IMBE operation isn't as simple as turning on a bit in the codeplug.
