How to use the DVP keyloader?

Post by poser »

My buddy brought a Saber II system and a keyloader. (battery is coming in for it)
The problem is, we have no idea how to upload a key and we're not even sure if our DVP XL loader will work with our DVP radios. Also, the instructions on the homepage don't seem to work. Thanks!

The -xl loader won't work with a DVP module. Sorry.

If I get the XL modules, what would the steps be? (can't run PL tones, correct?)

What radios do you own?: Too many!

Is it different for DVP?

I'm using a DX keyloader (T3011DX) which is a DES-XL model to load keys into regular DES (non-XL) radios with no problems.

Now if I had a non-XL keyloader, I would not be able to load a key into an -XL module.

Thanks! So if I follow the primer on encrypt, not use a PL tone, and not use 8-F on the KVL, I should be fine?

Believe it is different for DVP. My DES-XL KVL shows DES/DES-XL on the label while the DVP-XL KVL shows only DVP-XL. Never tried it but since you pose the question I'll give it a try this week.

Yes, it's 'either/or' for the DVP loaders. A DES-xl loader will work for DES or DES-xl. Confusingly, there's DES only loaders that won't work for DES-xl. It's pretty much as the Batlabs list reads:

Code: Select all

Key Variable Loaders

DVP (First Generation) P1001BX
DVP CODE INSERTER T3010AX, T3010BX, T3010CX, T3010DX
DVP-XL SECURENET T3014CX, T3014DX
DES T3020BX
DES/DES-XL SECURENET T3011AX, T3011BX, T3011CX, T3011DX
DVI-XL SECURENET T3012AX

What do I enter when it asks for ID after punching in my key? Also, will PL tones being on cause a fail?
