XTS3500 Codeplug

Post by nick.dejohn »

Anyone have a codeplug that they could email me for an XTS3500 VHF. I have a "Nick" radio and I can not get the shot beep out when I connect the speaker mic to the radio. I am using MDC1200 and I have it set to post. Everytime I transmit using the speaker mic, I get this short beep. If I disconnect the speaker mi, it works fine. If I turn off the MDC feature, it still transmit that short beep. Any idea's??? Also, the OTAR feature in the radio is causing me a little grief as well. I have to dedicate a channel in the radio that will never be used so that I can assign OTAR to it. Otherwise the software will tell me that it will not program.

I have looked all over in the software for something to would give me a clue to shutting this off and I have found nothing.

Oh, one last question. Anyone have any ideas as to why the radio will not read with un updated version of CPS?

There never was CPS for the XTS3500, only DOS.

You must have enabled OTAR up somewhere in the RSS. There's astro OTAR and mdc OTAR. Make sure both are turned off.

Also check that you do not have the option to warn before transmitting in the clear turned on. That will cause a short beep at the beginning of each transmission. Kind of strange it would only do it with a speaker mic attached though.

What's the model number?

If it starts with H24 it's an XTS3500.

If it starts with H09 it's an XTS3000.

Since it's a Nick radio it's probably tagless so the best bet is to put it into service mode and see what you get.

If I read the radio with CPS, it will show me the model number as well, correct?

Not to mention, the RSS version & model applicability show up on the opening screen.

Hey, sorry to jump in the middle, but what rss programs that 3500? Will the 3000 rss do it, or is it 3500-only rss?
thanks!
