CDM1250 "Revert Scan" function doesn't work

Post by nmfire10 »

Anyone have a solution to the Revert Scan on the CDM1250 not working? When I turn off scan, it always stays on the currently landed channel rather than the selected channel.

From what you've said and what I observe here, it's working as intended, Matt. With revert scan checked, the CDM should act exactly as you've described. With revert scan unchecked in the configuration page, when you stop scan it should revert to the channel you had selected before you entered scan mode. I tried it here with revert scan checked, and it acted just like you described. I didn't try unchecking the revert scan box to verify that it acted as the help file says and I stated above.

Are you sure. I thought Revert Scan would be when it's scanning and the mic is grounded it will SCAN and when you pick up the mic the scan stop and goes back to the last selected channel or the last channel that recieved a transmission.

The Help Screen says:
Causes the radio to automatically move to the last landed scan - channel when exiting scan mode.
When disabled, the radio automatically moves back to the channel where scan was originally initiated.

Uncheck the REVERT SCAN box and it will revert.

There also appears to be a firmware issue on units that are earlier than around v5.0 where the revert scan doesn't work. It seems that it isn't in the firmware on early ones. Time for a firmware upgrade.

I think I've tried it checked and unchecked but I will give it a whirl later on.

Got the same issue here. I have a CDM 1250 with firmware version 4.01.14. When this radio scans and the mic is picked up when the radio is listening to anyting other than the non-priority channel it stays on the non-priority channel. This tends to drive our users nuts. The radio is programmed that the HUB stops all scan, transmitt channel is designated, talkback scan not selected, and revert scan is unchecked.

Could this be the firmware issue mentioned above? To get this upgraded and not solve the problem will cause me some grief. Anyone know for sure if this is the issue?

I'm not sure what my firmware version is as my truck is about 25 miles away right now. But it is older and crappy. It also has a habit of not unmuting from a DOS mute until the carrier drops. It definately needs an upgrade.

What do I have to do to make a firmware upgrade happen on mine?

I have CPS 6.04 a normal /\/\ RIB & cable. I assume this equipment is not suitable for flash upgrades?
