Repeater Controller Advice

Post by Wile E. Coyote »

Hey guys,

I need advice. I am looking for a repeater controller with integrated tone-remote capability. It looks like Motorola discontinued a lot of their stuff.

Any ideas?

I routinely recommend Zetron controllers; the 38M is my favorite.

I'm not aware of a repeater controller that integrates tone remote capability, but the 38M can be easily hooked up to a tone remote adapter. In addition, it has the advantage over most repeater controllers of a specific pin to signify that the TRA is commanding keying and specifying what output tone is to be generated in response to the remote key. Useful if the controller is otherwise programmed as an FB6.

not a bad idea! I really like Zetron's stuff. It just seems a little hard for me to believe that there is no such animal as an integrated controller. If I have to piece-part it out, that looks like a good pick.
