How can I tell if a KVL has been upgraded??

Post by ka8ypy »

I have a T3011AX, previous owner stated it was upgraded to DX model, but did not have a battery at the time. Now that I have a battery for it, how can I tell if it has been upgraded a la Saber and system saber? Is there a button sequence I can push on power up or do I have to open it up and look?

Thanks,

If it's a DX it will keyload an Astro Saber, if it's only a CX it won't. Other than that you would have to look inside and see, but even then it depends on whether or not the Eprom has been labeled after being replaced, and then of course it's a matter of trusting what it's labeled as.

The short story is this, if your only going to be loading Sabers and Sys Saber's it doesn't matter if it's A, B, C, D. As far as i know it's only required to have a D version when loading Astro Sabers.
