I just purchased a '04 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab (4 door). I'll be mounting the remote head of a Yeasu FT-7800R on the front console along with an external speaker under the dash. I'm considering placing the radio under one of the back seats. Are there any noise considerations I need to be aware of? (I'm avoiding placing the radio under the front seat due to the presence of multiple electric motors running the power seatsn not to mention space issues.) Is there a conveinent source of power under the back seats? I'd greatly appreciate any other advice anyone would like to share.

- What radios do you own?: AM/FM
well, it's not a moto radio....but i'll help. I would say that the space problem under the front seats is the biggest problem, i wouldn't be worried about the 'multiple electric motors' under there as a source of interference, because honestly....how often will you be driving down the road, adjusting your seat, as you are transmitting???
be realistic here, my driving instructor would have caned me if i did that while i was driving, much less just moving the seat!!
convenient source of power? drag your own line to it. While not having any kind of experience with the line of vehicles, few just have convenient sources of power kickin around under the carpets! And if you're that worried about RF noise (re; motors in proximity), stock wiring can be a lovely source of RF interference....run your own, fuse it close to the battery, gromet it thru the firewall, wiretie it down, and cut it to your length.
