I know this sounds rather funny but i have a customer who "likes" to hear the 2175Hz keying tone when someone talks on the repeater. The repeater in questioin is a standalone Micor UHF station. It does not have any tone keying modules, comparators ect....just a standalone repeater.
What I want to know is: Can I somehow use a module and route the audio in a way so that when the repeater is keyed up a keying tone is heard at the begining of the transmission. Also when the repeater is transmitting (4 sec hangtime) and someone keys up the 2175Hz keying tone will come through before their audio.
Is there a way to accomplish this with the use of a plug in module that is somehow modified? i.e different line driver, tone keyine modules??

Long ago, I did something simmular on a couple of repeaters so I could tell which one was which.
I added a CommSpec tone encoder board set for one of the keying tones, like 2175hz and a different tone on each of the others. Just added the output thru a 47K resistor into the audio stage in the station control card.
