MSR-2000 Ham Mods???
I am a member of a rather large repeater club in Colorado. I have the opportunity to obtain an MSR2000 for the 440 ham band. The question is can an MSR2000 that is tuned to the 450 to 470 bands be retuned to the 440 ham band??? If so, how complicated is this task. Please know that I will have a tech doing the actual conversion, this is simply a question that I needed to know the answer to before sinking money into this unit.
This is a trivial problem, rarely is there any issue at all. Recrystal and go. This assumes there have been no changes to the receiver.
The receiver is the one that is most touchy - if you have a high receive pair it is that much easier.
You really need a service manual, and, you need to follow the procedure in it for tune-up. If you don't, you can find yourself unable to get to the right "peak".
The receivers aren't particularly "hot", anyway. Plan on a pre-amp unless you are going for very local coverage.
