convertacoms

Post by JerryS »

I will be picking up some Astro Saber III's and need to know if the following convertacoms will work with them

NTN5487B
or
NTN5487C

What is the difference between them?

Thanks in advance

What radios do you own?: Progreso soup can with CRT

5487s, etc.

Try looking at http://www.batlabs.com under Model Specific information. I think there
is something there about differences between the standard Saber and the Astro
SVAs.

The astro saber requires the ntn7227.. the earlier SVAs won't work (and you wont be able to insert the radio without a lot of force..)

the label on mine states that it will work with astro saber, saber, or systems saber built on/after 9/1/1994 (5th char of s/n must be U or later. if U, the 6th char must be S or later)

you will also need a regular length battery, not a ultra-high cap. I use a NTN4538.
