Swapping controller board

Post by ayaresr »

For those who don't know, I am in the process of buying an MTS2000 that I will need to add trunking to. My question this time is: I found another MTS2000 on ebay for parts or repair, it is the same with the exception of the fact that the band split is the lower UHF instead of the upper range. Will this matter first off? It currently has the toolproof error. The auction states that the radio is configured for trunking. Can I take this controller and put it into my radio, or will the toolproof error still be there? I am not sure where this data resides. Could some clarify this for me. Stay away from it...the toolproof error resides in the controller. Not to mention the frequency range doesn't match with your current RF board, so it wouldn't work properly.
