securenet encryption question

Is the cdm series mobiles capable of des,dvp,etc or do you have to use some sort of aftermarket encryption?? i read the encryption and model pages on batlabs main site and it didnt say any thing one way or the other. thanks KT

nothing from the factory.

only 3rd party products, and nothing in DES/DVP.... all proprietary (transcrypt, etc)

While I havn't tried it, (I do have a post on it somewhere back about 6 months ago). The main problem is 2 things, does the CDM series have a VCO that can handle the DES signal, and how wide should the RX be made to handle the 6K. If the VCO is the same as the Maxrtac/Radius series, then it will not work. I tried for hours and couldn;t get to work, I even contemplated removing the master crystal OSC and use a master OSC module from an MX portable. The RX would be the easiest to do, you would have to get some surface mount caps and try different combinations to widen the freq response to handle the DES. A project for another day.
