Motorola Maratrac Kit?

Post by 60A »

Ok, I have a big box of old parts laying around I finally got to digging through and came across these. They are Maratrac kit number HLN1267A, I suspect they might be the siren\pa amp for a maratrac radio but not real sure. Can someone give me a heads up on this?

Yep, i used to have one of those. It's Maratrac Siren/PA amp. It only works with the Maratrac DEK and cable. Though you can make a cable for it using a Syntor X or X9000 control cable and VIPII connector shell. I had to for the one i had.

The biggest problem is it's useless unless you have a Maratrac DEK unit, that's the only one it works with. The nice thing about them is they can be used as a standalone siren/pa unit without being connected to the radio. Connecting it to the radio just enables the use of Ext Radio and PA using the radios mic. If you use it as a standalone a regular Spectra, X9000, Maratrac mic can be plugged into the DEK for PA use.

I think i still have the schematic for the control cable that goes to the DEK, but as i said the Maratrac DEK is a hard to find bugger.
