Help...Spectra wont do Dynamic Priority Scan???

Post by kd6rfs »

hi...I have a VHF dash mount spectra D43KMA...model, w/ A5 head...I have Dynamic Priority ENABLED but when i push the SCAN button and its scanning the 16 op. selectable ch's and I push the SEL button...nothing happens?? its supposed to Temp increase the Priority of a non-pri channel...but no beeps nothing...the SEL button does work, as I use it to program my scan list (Operator Selectable) and I made sure to ENABLE the feature...whats going on??.......Also, while I am in RSS in the F6 "Edit Control head Buttons" area, when I hit the up arrow and try to put in RSSI I cant find it??? I have RSSI currently programmed on the H/L button, if I try to see what the other button options are, I lose RSSI....is there a special sequence to access RSSI? is it in a hidden menu?? Are there other hidden buttons? and can RSSI only be placed in the H/L button? or can I place it anywhere??? since motorola does not make a RSSI button (a SMALL button that says RSSI) I thought I would place RSSI in a top button, like where CALL is, since I dont use that feature...and then order a large RSSI button, and put CALL on the H/L button and order a small CALL button (which motorola does make)...but I lose RSSI whenever i hit up arrow or down arrow to scroll the other options....thanks, any info on this would be appreciated....like I said, My radio does RSSI its on there now...but I lose it?? Thanks, David KD6RFS

What is your priority set to? If it's set to a specific channel, you might not be able to dynamically prioritize another channel. Make sure both priorities are set to op-select.

And you are trying to set it priority while there's activity on it?
