Help changing a Spectra 800 B7 to C7

Hi
I have a Spectra 800Mhz B7.I am a little confused after reading information on Batlabs regarding changing a B7 to a C7.
Can I just change the serial number ?
But I'm unclear how to change the model number,I have a C7 C/P
Or do I have to start with a new MLM ?
