OT: Hirose, HRS, Connector Needed...

Post by kb0nly »

Can anyone point me to a source for HRS, Hirose, connectors online, and no, i am not referring to the Hirose connector on Saber's etc. I am referring to the one they make that is on my GPS Navigation system from Horizon Navigation.

I want to make a different antenna cable for it, the one they supplied is this short, too short, cable with one of those small mag mount active antennas. I want to go with a Larsen mount that i already have, along with the active GPS antenna i used with my other system using a Toughbook and docking station.

Here is the info i have on the connector.

Housing: GT5-1S-HU
Retainer: GT5-1P/S
Crimp: GT5-2022/F2.7-3.5SCF

It's a PITA to find these i guess, or so i find out from some GPS forums online. As a last resort i could chop the factory antenna off and install a connector to make an adapter cable but i don't have the tools or a Female SMA on hand to fit this small cable, it's about the size of LMR-100. Why SMA? Because i already have an SMA Male on the GPS antenna i want to use with it.
