JEDI series SVA Question

I picked up an SVA for the JEDI series. It has the AMP for hte VHF radio. I need it for the 800 band. My question is this. If It's all hooked up properly, and an 800 radio is installed and transmits, will the RF just bypass the amp and go out @ 3 W to the antenna ( if the proper 800 MHZ antenna is installed) or will it cause problems to the amp?

Will this work? or should I just hold off till I can find or trade the VHF amp for the 800 amp?
