Saber problem...

Post by VE9MP »

So I was playing with one of my Sabers, a VHF Saber I....

I went and put a 8k COPE/Display on it that was last programmed to UHF stuff...

I later took cope board off and put the original Saber I front panel on it, and now I get an error tone on Tx on every channel and no receive either...

What gives? Will a simple re-write fix this?

I’m almost sure you can not program the radio with a 8k COPE and then swap it to a 2k COPE with out reprogramming it. But then again it's be a wile since I have played with my sabers.

Saber program question...

Why don't you try dumping in the original VHF Saber I program to
see if that straightens things out? Remember that there is no
memory in the shield of a Saber I, and what you did was to put in
a shield with UHF channels that "saw" the VHF stuff already in
the radio, so it's no wonder the radio is confused.
